go to the show you want

(this IS the most recent TJI of this spectacular show)
http://archive.org/details/gd1980-10-29.120307.fob-nak700.gatto-jaeger.dusborne.flac16

look at the first lines of info: collection band venue date etc
look for 'other copies' hyper link (blue) after DATE
click it
All sources will show.
look right hand column under SORT RESULTS BY
click 'date added' in this case

TJI ^for this famous Oct. 80 show is not bad I must admit.
Its really bright. Not much Leshphilling though. The Aud
Wise/Miller has much more warmth. And in this case, I
think one must go with the soundboard. must.

Hope it helps, I had to ask the same Q and felt stupid. Theres always someone kynd around to answer though.
Now if I could only figure out U2s 'man behind the curtain' stuff...

Unfortunately the board for 10-29-80 is only a partial recording. Six songs from set 2 and 5 from set 3.

The archive listings do make it more difficult to discern release date. The following link to the Losssless Legs listing makes that task much easier.

Any thoughts on this source?

sounds pretty good, but there is some data issues?

Shnid=1953 is an earlier release of Jim wise's recording; the best Bill Tetzeli had at the time to work with in creating his combo. Since then, Charlie Miller released an upgrade to the Wise recording, shnid=101306.

Overall the Wise recording captures Phil's presence nicely, but is a bit muddy in the mid and high range. I prefer the brightness and clarity of the Gatto recording. Dusborne is considering an attempt to matrix both together. If it turns out well, the effort will be well worth it. Phil and clear highs, yes sir, that'd be just about exactly perfect.

Gotcha~
Thanks again for the shedding of light. Keep whispering to
Dusborne about that combo...
We all know that Bobby likes things to be "just exactly
perfect". :)
